About Me
Hi, I'm Ayeesha — a writer and storyteller based in Nairobi. Ay-Alley is where I put the things I notice: the small rituals that hold a week together, the women who taught me to cook, the trips that change how I see home, and the clothes and colours that make me feel like myself.
I write in English, but Kiswahili and Sheng find their way onto the page too, because that is how life sounds here. Some posts are practical — a weekend plan, a skincare routine, a recipe. Others are essays and letters, written slowly, about growing up, staying and belonging.
You'll find five corners on the blog:
- Lifestyle — everyday living, routines and the small things that make a life.
- Fashion & Beauty — personal style, African print and honest beauty notes.
- Travel — journeys across Kenya and beyond, with real tips for the road.
- Food & Culture — kitchens, markets and the traditions inside the food we share.
- Stories & Thoughts — personal essays, short stories and reflections.
There's also a small shop of handpicked jewellery and accessories I love. If you'd like to work together, share a story or just say hello, write to me — I read every message.
